Spring Shopping Haul

The weather is warming up here in the Southwest and that means that it is time to put away the grays and blacks and pull out the bright colors. My first spring purchase was a neon pink blazer from the LOFT.

Hot Pink Blazer - The LOFT

Drapery Crepe Blazer in Neon Pink ($98)

I first saw this beauty when I was walking around the shops in Planet Hollywood. I saw it on a mannequin and had to go in and try it on. However, for a retail price of $98, I just couldn’t do it. The LOFT had a sale a few weeks ago where they had new arrival items for 50% off. The LOFT has a lot of great sales so you really shouldn’t ever have to purchase anything for full price. Subscribe to their e-mail newsletters to get all the updates. This blazer is super cute and surprisingly very versatile. Paired with dress pants or a pencil skirt, you can wear this to work. You can also pair this with a pair of jeans for a more casual look. I got a ton of compliments on this when I wore it to work one day. I also bought the black version but decided to return it as I realized I could just wear my suit jackets that I reserve for interviews. To make it more casual, I just roll the sleeves up.

H&M Dress

It seems like every time I go to Vegas I always get a lace dress. I found this pretty light pink lace dress from H&M. I’m not sure if they carry this exact dress any more but they do have a similar style online here. This dress is super cute with a skinny belt around the waist. I also saw someone wearing a white version of this dress with a blazer over it which looked great. You can dress this up with heels or wedges and dress it down with sandals.

Guess Color JeansIn case you’ve been hiding under a rock and didn’t know, colored skinny jeans are very in right now. I’ve probably tried on every single pair of mint skinny jeans that are out there and haven’t had luck finding one that fits me right. I did come across a pair of kelly green Guess skinny jeans at Marshalls and loved the way they fit. They were also affordable too at $34.99. You can find a similar pair here. I went to T.J.Maxx and found the same pair in white and picked those up as well. For some reason the white ones are much longer so I’ll have to hem those. I wore the kelly green pair this weekend in spirit of St. Patrick’s Day and will do another post shortly on my outfit.

White BlouseI also found a super cute white blouse with a lovely lace collar accent at Marshalls. I really like that the fabric is thicker than most sheer blouses out there so it doesn’t wrinkle as much and isn’t super see-through. I highly recommend going to Marshalls and/or T.J.Maxx first because they always have the same blouses you can find at other boutique stores for so much less. Trust me, I have bought a few blouses at some local boutiques and then went to Marshalls only to find pretty much the same top for more than half the price!

Jessica Simpson PumpsLast but not least, DSW sent me a $20 off coup since I haven’t shopped there in a while. Looking online, I fell in love with these Jessica Simpson Turquoise Pumps ($59.95). They have them in a wide width which is perfect for my fat feet. Unfortunately, the color of the actual shoes are more of a robin’s egg blue as opposed to the mint color that is shown online. Either way, they’re still cute and since I got them for a great deal, I’ll keep them.
